OBAMA STOP TELLING ISRAELIS HOW TO FEEL
You said Bush’s comments were “Sad” for the Israeli’s…
WHY DID THE MEMBERS OF THE KNESSET STAND UP AND CHEER AFTER THE SPEECH…IT DOESN’T SEEM LIKE THEY WERE TOO OFFENDED.
GET A NEW ARGUMENT, NOVICE.
P.S….STOP WITH THE HOWARD DEAN STYLE ANGER…IT ISN’T BECOMING……IT IS VERY NON-AXELROD, AND GOES AGAINST YOUR FAKE BRAND THAT HE CREATED

I am an Israeli and this is how it goes. Israel carries a very vivid strong memory of a silent world during WWII when Jews were rounded up to be slaughtered. Only a decade after Hitler’s rising, the world got involved including the United States. All knew what was going on.
We had Carter visit Israel week’s back. This man is of the view of appeasment -i.e. go meet Hamas, Iran and make peace Western style. Bush made it clear that he sees reality “as is” - a repeat of WWII dynamics, and he will not sugarcoat it.
Obama’s tagline has been “dialog” with Iran. Carter has done it. What is all the fuss all about? He is simply stating his view. Obama stated his.
I assure you, Obama if elected (god forbid) will learn the hard way, at the American’s expense, what others have about the Muslim fundamentalist that he so alligns with. Regrettably history is never referenced by politicians.

A bit of history…
Consider this about talking to your adversaries: If Nixon, who made his career as an anti Communist, had not gone to China, China would have remained allied to the USSR, the arms race would have been doubly ruinous, the USSR would have felt much stronger, and it may not have fallen. Was Nixon a naive appeaser, too?
Please don’t tell me that you can exercise reason with a communist and not a Muslim fundamentalist. At the end of the day they are the same animal.

The issue w/ Obama is not about talking ….
Obama is cleverly trying to change the argument……
he clearly stated he would talk to iran, cuba, syria etc…w/o pre-conditions…
that is what the argument is…
we currently do talk to Iran….we just don’t have the presidents meeting and staging photo ops…..

Elephant Poacher
I can’t blaim you for not understanding what I am talking about. After all, you don’t serve in the army, sit on your couch and do not like the unpleasant nature of the conflict.
One of the finer benefits of an environment where we can criticize a people for what they do as a people, or how they progress as a people is improvement. America has opted for a politically correct environement at the expense of progress. I will criticize the Muslim people for a few things (moderate and extreme) and differentiate between them and communists:
1) Muslim religion has been used as a vehicle for death. Show me a global conflict today, you find the source being Muslim - Middle East, Europe Muslim uprising, Chechnya, Darfur. Suicide bombings in the name of allah are blessed to meet virgins and heaven. This applies to Spain, US, Chechnya, and Israel. No conventional dialog has resolved any of the religious motivations. Communists never blew themselves up or attacked America. Communists do, however, provide weopons to Arab countries (China, Russia). Bad comparison Elephant Poacher.
2) Muslims worldwide (even “peace loving”
have not condemmned these brutalities. I remind you that the same Palestinians that Carter/Obama wish to speak to celebrated 9/11 in the streets. The world sits quiet as it needs their oil. Political correctness at its best. Americans like yourself are uncomfortable about profiling. Sure, frisk the 80 year old lady, not the 30 year old Muslim. Go figure. I have yet to find the Muslim John Lennon. Communists had plenty of revolutionaries. Arabs believe in “Infidel” vs. Muslim at any price.
3) Liberals in America. Many of them regrettably Jews. View the right as ignorant, bible banging. This also happened in Israel during Rabin’s attempts at the Oslo peace treaty. Today, 1000 terrorist victims later, you can hardly find a liberal. The US will learn the hard way, regrettably. No one looks at history or travels much to understand the true roots of hatred - in America, Paris Hiliton is perhaps a better alternative for spending your available time.
Interestingly, Obama’s pastor and wife are not shy about criticizing white people etc - it’s legitimate and popular. No political correctness on the African American side. Interestingly, white Americans are feeling guilt or self blame for bringing these people down (rough life in Harvard law) so its tolerated and ignored. The main accomplishment I see is that Michelle Obama is proud of her country for the first time. I couldn’t afford Harvard, should I not be proud of this country because I have been “enslaved”. Personally, I prefer Slavery to a genocide (Holocaust) of 6 million. I am sure you agree.
The same simplistic mindset will blame the US and foreign policy to hatred towards the US. “We brought it on ourselves” - “it’s not the religion its our actions”. I remind you the first attack on the WTC was during Clinton’s watch and the attacks on the embassy’s and Marine barracks came long before Bush.
I am probably wasting my time convincing someone who has been pampered by the sacrifice his grandparents brought to him. Sometimes a nation needs to wake up, look outside of its perceived comfort and ensure its future is preserved.

According to your post Americans are couch potato sitting, Paris Hilton loving, profiling, self-deceiving softies. For you American readers in the audience I hope you will note that this is the image preceived abroad under the tenure of George W. Bush. It’s time for a new course.
A. For your first comment. Yes, the Muslim religion has been used as a vehicle for death. I agree; so has Christianity (Bosnia, Native Americans, Crusades, etc.). What exactly is your point? What do you suggest we do about them?
B. You mention: “I have yet to find the Muslim John Lennon…Arabs believe in “Infidel” vs. Muslim at any price.” I disagree with this simplistic point of view.
Ask and you shall receive. The Arab John Lennon…

C. “Personally, I prefer Slavery to a genocide (Holocaust) of 6 million. I am sure you agree.”
I really loved this “we suffered more” argument because it substantiates some of what black liberation theologists say. Do you think you will forget about the Holocaust in 100, 200, 300 years? Hopefully nobody will ever forget the holocaust, just as nobody should forget or discount the severity of slavery. According to the 1860 U.S. census, nearly four million slaves were held in a total population of just over 12 million.
My friend, I hope for peace in our lifetime. We all may play a part in that. I hope you remember this next time you are thrust into another conflict. For what cause? For what purpose? Just as we need their oil, we also need you to buy our arms. Your conflict is good for our economy and we all serve as pawns in the game.

Elephant Poacher - As I stated, you are not someone that can be convinced, given the fact you are a cushy, sterilized burger eating democrat - actually, you remind me of a reincarnation of Jimmy Carter, a self hating American that created today’s Iran mishandling the revolution.
Just for the hell of it, I will respond to your weak comments:
A) Let’s think of all your comparisons even going back to the stone age era conflicts. All were resolved with force, not through diplomacy. The Japanese and Germans who were on an ideological roller coaster were crushed with force. The Japanese, oddly, we impacted by 2 mushroom bombs, which killed their desire to fight. I like Japan as they are now rather their rape/pillage mentality of the past. And yes, we brought upon ourselves Pearl Harbor - our foreign policy did - I am sure your democrat ancestors said exactly what you are saying now. Islam is the “bad religion” of today and needs to be dealt with firmly, as the Germans needed to, the Christians and others before them.
B) I am proud of you for finding a token Muslim Lennon. I haven’t found him. This guy is probably sipping a cocktail in his UK mansion, loaded from the oil money that you sent his way. Seriously, there need to be a much broader movement for change (of behavior and mindset) in the Muslim world. Otherwise, when oil runs out, they will be just another Africa with tribal warfare.
C) Holocaust happened 60 years ago. Jews bounced back, revived their community, focused on education and built Israel. Slavery happened hundreds of years ago. African Americans have not evolved as well as other minorities. Its not a matter of memory of the horrible experience it is a matter of effecting change. It’s in progress, education and family - not Hip Hop and sports. Oddly, the Hussein Obama family had more opportunity than most, probably because their ethnicity. Both went to Ivy league schools so why bring it up???
I want peace as much as any of you dems. The path is less naive. Knowing the Muslim threat first hand, I believe in formatting the drive to restart, you believe in anti virus to fix the impact of the virus.

Well, there is one variable you are neglecting in your blatently racist remarks. You know, where you said, “African Americans have not evolved as well as other minorities.”
Do you think Israel would have made the same progress if they still lived in Germany? Of course not. That is why you love your home so much, as you should. Blacks in America were being hanged in trees forty years ago. Jewish civil rights workers were at the forefront of the civil rights movement. It is a shame that you don’t exhibit some of their wisdom.
Speaking of faith, you conclude that one must kill to achieve peace. That makes perfect sense. I hope you have the stones to tell God that on your final day.

Elephant Poacher - I am stating fact, Jews were slaughtered (all 6 million) and bounced back to establish a home globally. In 60 years they bounced back to impact global innovation, economics, and interestingly they are the main supporters of Obama’s rise. Obama and wife had more opportunity that you probably had. Why do they play the race card? Because it gets votes and preserves the past. I assure you Cosby is not voting for them.
Your political correctness with regards to generalization of any sort is detrimental given the lack of constructive criticism which leads to progress. In this country one can not comment on a touchy subject of African American culture and progress. Interestingly, other minorities are freely criticized by all - Mexicans (hard working, strong family unit), Chinese etc. If you believe that African American did not get a fair chance compared to other minorities (Jews, Mexicans, Chinese etc) that is faulting the truth. Fact is that the leadership has failed to pave the way. Success stories as Bill Cosby, Condi, Colin Powell are considered “white”. Hip Hop, Bling, Sports are considered heros. This is observation and not racism as you call it.
For Chinese, Russian, Jewish, Korean cultures - education and family is a motivator, not blaming others for not having an opportunity. Obama/Wife/Pastor are good at preserving the “past” rather than being forward looking like the positive examples that I mention. This is the reason I dislike Obama’s campaign and entourage.
Re Muslims - you are matching apples and oranges in trying to create an analogy to the culture you know. Explore Islam and its roots and then build your case. Don’t just be PC for the hell of it as one perspective which is built on your local surrounding does not fit all.
May 21, 2008 at 2:54 am
You state: “Your political correctness with regards to generalization of any sort is detrimental given the lack of constructive ctiticism which leads to progress.”
I think we may have found the root of our problem here. You are right; I do not care for “generalizations”. They are often messy, hateful fallacies. I find them unappealing because they are often untrue, not because of political correctness. I find it interesting that you equate “generalizations” with” constructive criticism”. I can assure you that the two are quite different.
Def: Generalization- to form generalizations; also : to make vague or indefinite statements. (Merriam-Webster)
Def: Constructive Criticism- a critical observation or remark (in order to achieve progress). (Merriam-Webster) I had to improvise this one a little.
P.S. I really love these little tiffs and also reading your simile/metaphors at the end. They are my favorite part…I read the most clever one about a skunk the other day.
May 21, 2008 at 2:59 am
You got it. Let’s fix the world with a Webster dictionary. Let’s interpret the Kuran with Webster, heck, let’s just send Ahmadenijad a copy so we all interact in a uniform manner.
The good thing about these blogs at the end of the day, is that its a great place to vent after a day’s work. I doubt we can change any viewpoints, as frankly, “floating votes” are currently watching reality TV, listening to Ms. Spears, and do not know much or care about the issues debated.
