IRAQ: Reality vs. Rhetoric

As Reported by Andy Barr, from the Hill:

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Wednesday that from what he has seen, both John McCain and Barack Obama would take a “sensible approach” to Iraq once in office.

“Based on what I read in the newspapers, I think either person who is elected president is going to come in and take a close look at it,” Gates said during an interview with CNN.

Despite the wide distance between Obama and McCain on Iraq, Gates said both will heavily weigh the options when approaching the “endgame” in Iraq.

“I’ve said repeatedly we can’t get the endgame wrong. The next president would suffer the greatest consequences if we do get the endgame wrong, so I think whoever’s elected is likely to take a fairly sensible approach to it,” Gates said.

So……..to all of the Kos kids………keep your pre-pubescent hormones in check…..stop posting pictures of war casualties next to Jenna Bush, or whatever bullshit you’re up to today…..go back to playing dungeons and dragons…….and talk amongst yourselves.

And to the crazy ladies at code pink…….this is not the 60’s…….I know those were your glory years………but they’re over……grab some cherry garcia, and calm down…….by all means, keep protesting-it’s your right……but just calm down, and open your mind to logic…..Iraq does not equal Vietnam………

John McCain (who has a son fighting in Iraq right now)…….does not want to be at war…………No one wants to be at war……….but, at the same time……… it is time to stop looking backward………stop focusing on the vote to go to war (remember, barry didn’t vote against the war….or for the war….he didn’t have a vote)……….

It is time to look forward………….for better…..or worse…we are in Iraq…..millions of peoples lives are at stake………..

The war HAS to be completed methodically, and not irrationally…….

Both candidates know this……..one candidate just happens to be honest about it………

While the other candidate beautifully reads a teleprompter in front of a bunch of self-righteous…….race obsessed……left-wing former hippies, and gleefully uninformed college kids…..

  1. This is the same organization in which its leader Jodie Evans said that, like Rev. Wright, that we deserved September 11 because of our presence in Saudi Arabia. She’ll go under the bus too!
