UPDATED: WILL OBAMA SHOW HIS LOVE TO CHICAGO’S GLBT COMMUNITY TOMORROW?
This is me last year…….with one of my neighbors (I’m the guy not wearing leather)
Tomorrow, my neighborhood……East Lakeview…AKA……Boystown……hosts its 39th Annual, Chicago Pride parade….
The parade averages close to 500,000 spectators…..and is a huge event for all….gay, straight….whatever…..
Every year……most machine politicians march in the parade…….(in fact, it has become a tradition of mine to deny a handshake to our schmuck governor, Rod Blagojevich, who tries to yuck it up with the crowd)
With that being said, Senator Obama has never been to the parade……..
In speeches Barry waxes poetic about his support for the gay community….tomorrow is his chance to show his support, not just talk about it………
Hillbuzz has been following the story closely, providing a countdown to the parade……and, as of today, Barry still has yet to confirm his attendance…….
Personally, I hope he doesn’t show…but, he really should……
Anyway, to all of my neighbors in the community have a great day…..my wife and I will be there, enjoying the beautiful weather…….

UPDATE: Barry did not show…. turns out he spent the day, yesterday………. playing basketball, and lunching……at the upscale East Bank Club….for those who do not know…the East Bank Club is a place to go get a steam, sit by the pool, and sip on smoothies…basically, it’s a place where Chicago’s elite hang out to see, and be seen…..
Way to show your pride Barry…….
Also, while Obama was rubbing elbows with the elite this weekend…….McCain was hanging with the gays…..
Finally, to all of the ignorant Obamabots who have already commented, and claim that McCain will not help the gay community….please remember one thing:
Obama and McCain hold an identical policy position on gay marriage…….they both oppose it….
While Obama speaks eloquently about the GLBT community….actions speak louder than words….and, he has done nothing for the community………absolutely nothing…….

Actually Mark, that is a lie. Don’t you watch Ellen? McCain doesn’t hate anyone, he just disagrees on the issue of Gay Marriage. He holds the same view as BHO on Civil Unions.
John told Ellen he wished her nothing but the best for her and wished her every happiness on her upcoming nuptuals.

Someone above said, “Ray, you are hot!!” IMO, You look, at least to me, kind of, like Nicolas Cage when he was young.
Nowadays, I encounter a phrase Obama=Bush a lot. This is not a bad strategy for McCain to win. If you keep repeating the phrase, Obama =Bush it will start sticking people’s mind and it will take its own life….
In many ways very clever.
And I read this one at No Quarter site. Gov.Randell came up with a group called HOUND that seeks support for Obama from the ex-Clinton supporters and PUMA members. A smart blogger dubbed,

Thanks so much for having the courage to run this blog. I live in the Chicago area also and I am almost afraid to say I will support McCain or a 3rd party candidate this fall.

I echo what Maris said. Unfortunately, I saw too many people wearing Obama Pride ’08 stickers. I didn’t see Barry O today just some of his surrogates in his place.
I wish people paid attention to how much anti-gay stuff Obama has been doing. Donnie McClurkin on his Gospel Tour, refusing to have his picture taken with SF Mayor Gavin Newsome, meeting with evangelical leaders. Obama is no friend to to the gay community. We’ll be under his bus soon enough.

Republicans don’t necessary hate gays and lesbians!
It’s the conservatives. But gays understand why… because of their religion.
But many churches are becoming more often now. They may not approve gays and lesbians… they do not necessarily advocate for the killing of gays. I amd Democrat in the last 15 years but still, abortion don’t seat well with me.
Democrat is not exactly 100% the same as Hollywood’s culture of Soros.
By the way, some Democratic Party members are also homophobic. It’s all around us and not just confined to one party or group.

I learned today what the “Down Low” really means. It really fits Obama – being married, lives a straight life, seems absolutely normal and black….

Funny thing is that Obama is a queer as a 3 dollar bill. You really think he just plays basketball over there at East Side with his “underling” Giannoulias.
