Obama's speech in Cairo is only the first step in many towards any kind of dialogue with America's current day enemies. The speech was largely vague and lacking in detail and its effects will only really be seen from the action that follows it both in the US and the Arab world.

"I pray we never get another 9/11, because unlike the national unity we experienced on that dreadful day — when we were no longer “just” Republicans or Democrats but Americans all,"

Tell that to the messiah-in-chief and try to convince him that maybe it's not such a good idea to be publicly discussing interrogation methods of captured Al-Quaida fighters and lest I forget, ANY questioning of him or his policies is both "racist" and "unpatriotic" or just "mean-spirited".

"I fear that today’s Republicans will continue their “party-before-country” obsession much to their peril and ours."

Just Republicans, not Democrats? Oh no, the Dems would never do that, they are far too principled. I mean, Barney Frank accepted some responsibility for the Fannie-Freddie meltdown didn't he? He said it was going to be alright, I mean, he should know, he was head of the Banking Committee. He's the one that should see these things coming?

Oh, wait a minute...he didn't? My bad.

Not to mention Chris Dodd, Charlie Rangel or any assorted cabinet appointments who FORGOT to pay their taxes? Or Nancty Pelosi who swore up and down she was never briefed on interrogation methods until it was proven otherwise?

Please. I'm not all enthusiastic about the Repubs as I once was because it seems that a sizeable portion of them want to be more like Democrats.

"Show some damn respect."

You have to give respect in kind to earn it. The last eight years was a p**s poor showing of that.

"Since 1973 my candidates have lost more often than won. You don’t see me moving to some idiotic foreign country, do you?"

Alec Baldwin didn't go anywhere and who's moving to some "idiotic foriegn country" and what country would that be? Please, don't get the messiah on another apology tour because of your poorly thought out slam here.

"Since 1973 my candidates have lost more often than won."

You can probably give significant credit to Jimmy Carter and Howard Dean among others for that.

"nor have any credible solutions been offered"

Credible solutions would be most unwelcome in this current political regime. Such solutions would endanger the current monopoly of political power enjoyed.

"I can’t believe it’s been over a 100 days later and the incessant whining hasn’t abated, nor have any credible solutions been offered. Just character assassination, outright lies, insults and spitballs from the back of the room."

You can save the cheese for your own whine, you seem to have it down pretty good. Oh, wait a minute, we're you talking about the treatment of Bush and Chaney the last eight years?

Now it makes sense.

Try writing a letter to the government to subsidize your own whining hypocrisy, it is clearly something you excel at.

Hey Carolyn, you're welcome!

I agree, that is a very powerful video, something that speaks profoundly for itself which is why I posted it without any commentary from me. CAO is pretty cool, I have it bookmarked and as far as the Homeland Security report goes, the irony is palpable.

The report labels as "right wing extremists" probably a large portion of the law enforcement community, those who are charged with keeping an eye out for such "extremists" and gathering from what I am aware of with law enforcement in my neck of the woods, many of which are more than likely pro second amendment, listen to talk radio and are pro-life.

Ms. Napolitano obviously lives in a very narrow, self contained, far-left ideologically driven world.

As an individual tarred with this broad brush painted over the conservative movement, I don't own a gun. I believe in the power of the ballot box and the way the current far-left regime is operating in both the legislative and executive branches, they are going to flush themselves in the 2010 and 2012 elections. They are bungling so badly I don't believe even ACORN could help them now.

Chicago Blood: Thank you for the link (3/28) posted above. What a powerful and profound message. CAO is still my favorite site.

I can't help but think of how the bizarre DHS Report released a few days ago on the alleged threat of "right-wing extremism" could arbitrarily list our wonderful service men and women as potential terrorist recruits. The government leaders and/or employees who produced the DHS Report should be totally ashamed of themselves.

In a 4/15, FoxNews(dot)com Article, "[Pete Hegseth, chairman of Vets for Freedom, said 'the report represents a gross misunderstanding and oversimplification of the country's service members. It's amazing they would single out veterans as a threat to this country,' said Hegseth, an Army veteran who served in Iraq.]"

Your link of this moving and accurate tribute says it all, again thank you for posting this remarkable message.
